Love
We are not in the playground anymore. There are new rules. We have to be mature. But we can’t lose the spirit of child like wonder. What is love… anyway? Maybe it’s supposed to break all the rules. Like me and Jan. Or Oscar… and some guy. Life is short. When two people find each other, what should stand in their way?-Michael Scott, The Office.
Well, I really was going to write about love, I promise, but then my mind switched to other things.
I’m going to talk about public service, I think. You all know about the writers strike, right? Well, in my oppinion, they don’t, wait they do, they shouldn’t have the right to strike. Those people are providing a service to us, the service being quality T.V. When they strike they take away the quality of T.V. and happiness of us. It’s almost like if hospital staff go on strike, where are the patients giong to go? They should not be aloud to do that. People could die because of them, they are providing a service that cannot be replaced. When the writers go on strike they cause us pain and take something away, and that isn’t fair. Why do they do it? For personal gain, they’re not going on strike to get better T.V. programs or cheaper cable for everyone. NO. They decide to go on strike to get more money for maybe 300 people, most likely less.
I think the procuxtion companies like NBC and CBS are the idiots for not hiring new writers coming out of college and saying “Adios,” to the old ones, that’ll teach ‘em. They’re like, “What happened?” “Oh we don’t need you no more so bye.” Then the writers are like “Oh crap I lost my career, I’m living on the street. My wife is going to kill me.” So they ask for their jobs back and NBC gives them back, for the same pay!
